Convert KNK to WPC file format

With your file open in KNK studio select all and export as an AI file. Note where you are saving your file to. Close KNK studio, open your Pazzles Inspiration software program or Funtime software program, click on import, making sure Ai file is selected, a box will pop up to convert to vector. Thats it you can now save this file in WPC format.

Using scraps of paper-

To use smaller scraps of paper, measure your piece of paper, then set the sign blank(under layout)  to the
same size of your scrap,( like a size of 4 inch x 4inch) place your scrap on your mat, set your origin, drag the object you want to cut into the sign blank area, and cut.

Computer freezes when you cancel  or hit the reset button-

If this happens and there is nothing you can do but shut off your computer follow these steps next time
you have to cancel or reset a cut, exactly in this order:

Turn of the machine with the power button

Then unplug USB cable from the USb port

Then click the cancel button on the screen.

This works most of the time.

Mat slips-

I use a quilters mat which is 12 x 18 inches(you can get these at Joannes or any fabric shop) I put masking tape on the underside of the mat where the top rollers will be lined up with  the tape strips, this gives it a little more traction.(see pictures 1 & 2)   The top rollers should be postitioned more towards the center, not all the way out to the sides as they need to be on the grip part of the bottom roller for a good grip.(see picture 3 below) Make sure your mat is sticky, I use Krylon easy tack works great.

Pressure settings-

When you find a pressure setting that works for example Bazzill cardstock, write it down.

I just put a piece of masking tape on the machine itself with all the different pressure setting I use.  This saves alot of time and paper.

Importing images

When importing images into KNK I find that if I change the file to BMP it will import with no problems, just use a program like photoshop, inkscape(which is free, at www.inkscape.org) to do this .

Another file form to use is EPS which is a pretty universal file type, and will open in KNK software with no problems.
